Lovely!!!!
During the day the wind had been gusting to 40+ knots and the sea was a
mess, but it dropped off a little around 4pm. When I first launched there
was only just enough wind to get going with my 4.5m, but I released a bit
of outhaul and it was perfect. I never made it right out the back as there
was masses and masses of whitewater, so I'm not actually sure how big the
surf really was, but it was pretty rough.
I then launched Derek's kite for him and went back out. We were both having
a good time out there with both of us getting some big jumps and nicely
powered up. Chris then came to the beach and I helped him launch his kite,
but by now thw wind had picked up a little too much and he just got dragged
down the beach, so I had to run after him, catch hold of the back of his
harness and drag him back before landing his kite. Derek was overpowered
now too, so I landed his kite for him before putting the outhaul tension
back on my sail and getting back out there. It was exhausting work in the
challenging conditions but I had a really good sail. Made my gybes and had
some good jumps and wave rides. I was only on the water for about an hour
though so won't give it 5 stars.
